Follow Artist

He was a landscape painter who lived in Hampstead at the same time as Constable, who greatly influenced his work. Although he imitated closely many of the elements of Constable’s style, he preserved his own distinctive style & colouring.

He exhibited mainly at the British Institution 1823-60, also at the Royal Academy 1821-60, Suffolk Street & New Watercolour Society.
