Engraver, watercolourist & antiquary. Born in Newcastle-on-Tyne, ans sent to London to study with John Scott. He worked as an engraver in Newcastle & Edinburgh, before returning to London, where he decided to take up watercolours. He exhibited regularly at New Watercolour Society between 1842-64, later becoming a member.
