He was born in Morlaix, Brittany. At the age of 20 he went to Paris, where he exhibited at the Salon d’Automne, salon des Tuileries & the salon des Independants. After the War he settled in Chelsea where he painted the Thames. He was Prsident of the Chelsea Art Society & he founded the New Chelsea Group, who’s main aim was to exhibit English art in Europe.
