He was a Scottish landscape painter and teacher in Edinburgh, London, Pittenween (Fyf), and South Croydon. He is mainly known for his Scottish harbour scenes and coastal views. He exhibited 8 paintings at Royal Academy and others at the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Society for Painters in Oils, and elsewhere.
