Arthur Alfred Burrington RI (1856-1924)

Born in Bridgwater, Somerset, he studied at South Kensington & at the Slade. He worked in Rome with Cipriani and in Paris with Lefebvre, Cormon, Boulanger and Bonnat. He lived for a period in the West Country, & later in the South of France. He was a friend of Stanhope Forbes, who encouraged him and his friend T T Rowe to visit Newlyn. However he remained there only for a short time. He died in Garda, near Verona, Italy.
