The brother of William L Wyllie, he studied at Leigh’s & the RA Schools and painted landscapes, costal & genre subjects. He exhibited from 1872 & was elected to the RBA in 1886. He lived in London & painted on the Channel coasts, on the Thames & in Venice. Examples are in the British Museum.
