Landscape painter born at Undercliff Hall, Bradford, Yorkshire, who mainly painted views in the Lakes, Sussex, Dorset and the Highlands. He died in August 1953 at Rochester, Kent. His middle name is often given as Henry and some websites say that he was Australian, both of which are incorrect.
