Frank Richards RBA (ex.1883-1925)

Follow Artist

A Birmingham born landscape painter, he lived there until 1887 and was elected a member of the Birmingham Society of Artists. From 1892 he worked from Lulworth, Dorset. Having travelled in Europe he became a great advocate of plein air painting and it was natural that he should gravitate in 1887 to the French inspired group of artists working in Cornwall and centred around the school established by Stanhope Forbes in Newlyn. He had moved away to Bournemouth by 1917. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Dowdswell Galleries, the Royal society of British Artists & elsewhere.
