Landscape & topographical watercolourist. He was a student at the RA, beginning his carearas an engraver but soon gave this up, he then started painting in oils, & then turned exclusively to watercolour. He spend much of his time teaching, from 1833 many of his drawings were engraved for books on English topography. Exhibited at RA, OWS, BI & elsewhere.
