James Orrock RI (1829-1919)

He was a landscape painter, collector & patron. He was educated at Irvine Acadamy & studied under White, Ferguson, Burgess & William L Leitch. His style is derived from de Wint, Constable & Cox. He was a known friend of Thomas Collier & Edmund M Wimperis. He also became professional writer, illustrator & lecturer. He exhibited extensively. Examples of his work are in the Victoria & Albert Museum, Bradford, Nottingham, Portsmouth & elsewhere.
