He was born in Glasgow. He works in oils, watercolours & pastels. He studied at the Glasgow School of Art, after which, he gained the W H Shanks Award for drawing in 1976 and he was awarded a Scottish Arts Council Scholarship to work in the USA, and has since exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy & the Royal Glasgow Institute. He now travels extensively in France, Italy & Spain.
