He was known for painting meticulous still-lifes of fruit, flowers & birds. He exhibited at the NWS & elsewhere from 1857-1894, he also painted competent & attractive landscapes. He lived in Coventry & London. Examples in the Victoria & Albert Museum, Glasgow Art Gallery & Newport Art Gallery.
