William Collingwood Smith RWS (1815-1887)

The son of an amateur artist & musician , Smith was always intended for an artist & was exhibiting at the Royal Academy at at the age of 21. He had occasional lessons from James Duffield Harding & later had the largest teaching practice in London. He was elected Associate the Old Watercolour Society & a full member in 1843 & 1849 respectively.
