He was the son of William Purser, an architect who lived at Christ Church, Surrey. He entered the Royal Academy Schools in 1807. From 1817 to 1820 he was in Italy & Greece as draughtsman to John Sanders. He exhibited both views & architectural designs at the Royal Academy from 1820 to 1834. There are examples in the Victoria & Albert Museum & the British Museum.
