A London painter of genre, he exhibited from 1862 at the RA, British Institute, Suffolk Street, New Watercolour Society & elsewhere.
He was elected to the Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters (RI) in 1885, resigning in 1903. Examples of his work can be found in in the Victoria and Albert Museum, Dundee City A.G., and Sydney A.G.
